glibc 2.33

The GNU C Library

Any Unix-like operating system needs a C library: the library which defines the "system calls" and other basic facilities such as open, malloc, printf, exit...

The GNU C library is used as the C library in the GNU system and most systems with the Linux kernel.

Installation

Install glibc 2.33 as follows:

guix install glibc@2.33

Or install the latest version:

guix install glibc

The glibc package provides more outputs besides the default (out). You can install them by appending :output-name to the package specification. For example:

guix install glibc:debug
guix install glibc:static

You can also install packages in augmented, pure or containerized environments for development or simply to try them out without polluting your user profile. See the guix shell documentation for more information.
