Scientific Times-like font

XITS is a Times-like font for scientific typesetting with proper mathematical support for modern, Unicode and OpenType capable TeX engines, namely LuaTeX and XeTeX. For use with LuaLaTeX or XeLaTeX, support is available from the fontspec and unicode-math packages.

Installation

Install texlive-xits 2025.2 as follows:

guix install texlive-xits@2025.2

Or install the latest version:

guix install texlive-xits

The texlive-xits package provides more outputs besides the default (out). You can install them by appending :output-name to the package specification. For example:

guix install texlive-xits:doc

You can also install packages in augmented, pure or containerized environments for development or simply to try them out without polluting your user profile. See the guix shell documentation for more information.
