This package browser is in early development. Mind the rough edges.

buildah

Build OCI (Open Container Initiative) images

Buildah is a command-line tool to build OCI container images. More generally, it can be used to:

  • create a working container, either from scratch or using an image as a starting point;

  • create an image, either from a working container or via the instructions in a Dockerfile;

  • mount a working container's root filesystem for manipulation;

  • use the updated contents of a container's root filesystem as a filesystem layer to create a new image.

Installation

Install the latest version of buildah as follows:

guix install buildah

Or install a particular version:

guix install buildah@1.42.1

You can also install packages in augmented, pure or containerized environments for development or simply to try them out without polluting your user profile. See the guix shell documentation for more information.
