This package browser is in early development. Mind the rough edges.

protobuf

Data encoding for remote procedure calls (RPCs)

Protocol Buffers are a way of encoding structured data in an efficient yet extensible format. Google uses Protocol Buffers for almost all of its internal RPC protocols and file formats.

Installation

Install the latest version of protobuf as follows:

guix install protobuf

Or install a particular version:

guix install protobuf@2.6.1

You can also install packages in augmented, pure or containerized environments for development or simply to try them out without polluting your user profile. See the guix shell documentation for more information.

You can use the following badge to inform users of protobuf about the latest version available in Guix.
